- לוֹעַm. (b. h. לֹעַ; לעע or לוע, cmp. לוֹג, a. לוֹחָא) jaw. Gen. R. s. 81; Yalk. Prov. 959 (ref. to יָלַע, Prov. 20:25) אוכל קדשים בלוֹעוֹ who chews sacred things with his jaw. Ib.; Snh.58b (ref. to Prov. l. c.) הסוטר לוֹעוֹוכ׳ he who strikes an Israelites jaw, is regarded as if striking the Shekhinah.
